🎬 About the Film
Musings is a musical short film about what happens when we silence our creative voice. "A quitting singer/songwriter gives in to the pressures of real life, as an ancient muse desperately tries to reach her or face extinction – while the fate of all human creativity hangs in the balance." It’s a poetic, funny, and deeply moving reminder that art is not just a luxury — it’s survival.

✨ Why This Story Matters
I created Musings because it reflects a very personal journey — the conflict between the creative life we dream of and the realities of adulthood. It’s about finding small sparks of inspiration in the everyday, and making art anyway — even when it’s hard. This film is for anyone who ever felt the pull to create, and wondered if it was still worth pursuing. The answer, for me, is yes.

The film is being produced in Sarasota, Florida by Muse Studio Productions, LLC, in collaboration with a women-led creative team, and a local, diverse cast and crew. We are proud to have From the Heart Productions as our Fiscal Sponsor, allowing all donations to be tax-deductible. Production started in March 2025 with our pre-record of all 5 original songs completed (see our BTS pics below). The goal is to shoot the rest of the film in Fall 2025, with post-production wrapping by Q1 of 2026.

🌍 Impact & Distribution
We believe Musings has the potential to spark global conversations about creative identity and the importance of the arts - especially in this Age of AI. We plan to submit the film to major festivals, streamers, and short film platforms. We’ll also actively promote and share the film via social media to build community, inspire dialogue, and reach new audiences around the world.

This project cannot happen without your support. Every dollar raised helps bring this story to life — from paying our cast and crew, to building the world of the film, to getting it seen far and wide. Florida, and Sarasota County in particular, currently offer no film incentives, which means very few films are made here. Musings is a rare opportunity to support independent filmmaking in this region and to help create meaningful jobs for local artists, technicians, and creatives.
